As you may have learned via Twitter, I recently invested in a Google Phone on Android, the operating system from Google. And I must say that I am fully satisfied!
So I bought a HTC Magic with version 1.5 of the OS. The design is very (too?) Sobre may put off a little early, but ultimately, the general egonomie phone is good. The phone has a 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus, a GPS, Wifi and Bluetooth.

To return to the operating Systel, it works in connected mode 100%, which means to have a package with internet unlimited. The touchscreen phone, allows navigating the menus, desktop switcher (3 available), type your message, etc ... The operation is somewhat similar to an iPhone.
By default, the phone has several applications, including Gmail and Google Map (Google Account required to enjoy these services). Of course, there is also an application for SMS / MMS, address book, calendar (Google Calendar), a browser, messaging software, an alarm clock ...
But where other phones are limited in functionality, with Android and the Android Market (Apple Store-like), it is possible to add lots of applications and so much functionality on the phone!
I already installed a file manager, a QR code scanner and flashcode a PDF reader, an application indicating the radar, an application for Whiteboard, a Twitter client (Twidroid), a MSN client, an application to watch TV ... and all for free.
Indeed there is as a huge amount of free applications available and installable with one click. Android is a Linux revisited, he enjoys the power of the open source community has already begun to bear many applications for the system. Although the Android Market was a bit behind the Apple Store, its potential is Ennorme.
In short, I give a 8,5 / 10 by phone (design improvement and heats a little 3G or GPS) and a 9 / 10 to Android (still needs some tuning at the input), one might say deadly combo!
Ps: exite the fact that an impressive number of applications for Android, I will be happy to share my discoveries with you through this blog. So I added one Android category in which I'll post the articles.

I was wondering what it means android works online mode?
I'm about as d also buy a GPhone (and c is why I glean the info here and there) and I confess that ca read m worried that because a term I do not take a package 3G (too expensive in France).
But the acquisition of this phone is too expensive to buy the phone alone.
Otherwise if you are looking for additional functionality, you can watch it:

It is not possible to buy this phone without a 3G unlimited internet package.
However, I tried, because I wanted to use only WiFi, but the computer SFR agency refuses categorically.
Anyway, all connections outside Vodafone (so all those to Google, which are many) would not pass and therefore a real ruin.
Specifically, in SFR packages Illimythics 3G + not enough, it is imperative a package Illimythics 3G + Full Internet.
The use of android in wifi only should be enough I guess, I do not really need the 3G, so I'll only buy the phone (apparently possible after the SFR site: http://www .sfr.fr / mobile / recap.....ule = 000hi0)
Does the functionality of calendar, notes and works even without 3G and offline mode?
the calendar offline functionality is essential for me in a cell phone (the other being the mp3 and / or video but hey ....)
SINCE Fi coverage in Paris (yes I am in Paris)

While it is possible to buy the phone alone, but it absolutely requires a 3G connection to operate.
For the calendar is Google Calendar, so it works online ... hence the need for 3G.
Regarding the notes, there is no "notepad" by default. Must install one from Android Market.
Hello, I counted myself take the magic with a tailored package 1 hour at 18 euro / month but given what you say, it is not possible?
so why offer it on the site?
it must therefore necessarily has a fixed minimum € 30 to take advantage of this notebook?
Indeed, the laptop uses an internet connection permanently. As for an iPhone, you need a package which includes unlimited Internet connections (not just Vodafone, but the Internet), so at least one package illymitics 3G + internet with full option.
So yes, it is possible to use a standard package of € 18 for 1 hour, however we must be aware that all the phone connections to the Internet would then pass out ... and finally, once a month is much higher than expected.
For example, when you look at his calendar or contacts, the phone syncs with your Google Account to retrieve information. So if the connection is not included in the package is a ruin in a few days.
So I do not know why SFR offers other packages on the internet ... but personal to be sure, I went in agency, left to wait a little, at least I have been informed. Full details of the offers are actually available in a catalog available there.
(j did not thin the level math)
to summarize my previous post but not posted.
The HTC Magic works perfectly without 3G connection, it is fair to synchronize from time to time with the Internet since it uses Google's services. But most customers google app on a cache system that allows the phone to function even without connection.
What is my case (no package), the standard features (phone, sms, alarm, clock, calendar) are as expected.
Also as I said previously Fi coverage for free (I am among them) is such that I can have internet if I really need.
Hello! I am a novice in this field ...
I get this phone, but at earlier, I have a small question:
Can you surf the internet with a wifi network (for example with nine-Fi or macdo :-)) without taking a 3G package?
Thank you!
normally yes.
