And yes! Today it arrives this new version of Ubuntu , the 9.04, named Jaunty Jackalope ( jackalope playful).
It is neither more nor less than the 11th Ubuntu release.
So as always, I offer some links to the updated repositories to download this new version:
Personally, I suggest you download the image . iso using torrents because there may be some congestion of the servers in the next few hours.
For the novice, if you want to introduce you to Linux , just burn the image. iso to a CD and boot the PC on. No need to install the Live CD will allow you to try Ubuntu 9.04 without America for your PC.
They talk about:
- Korben: Ubuntu 9.04 final version is finally out!
- David Tate: Ubuntu 9.04 is here.
- The Journal of Geek: Ubuntu 9.04 available.

released last week, installed this week ..
I also installed this weekend ... and the first thing I noticed is the loading speed, much faster than previous versions.
I also noticed an improvement in design (new version of Gnome), although the orange-brown color starts to get out through the eyes by now. Fortunately, it is easy to change.
I have not had time to do the rounds of the new features, however, I noted the appearance of the ext4 file system. But hey, nothing really revolutionary.
What intrigues me most is that I feel no great improvement has been made in ease of use (the famous "user friendly") for several versions (ok, it's not just Ubuntu, Gnome is for something).
I fear that faced with a windows 7, Ubuntu does the more weight a long time ... as if using a 98 still has the time of Vista.
(Well I can hear the trolls come: I did not say Vista or 7 are "user friendly", eh? Just as Gnome stagnates at the GUI XP ...)
