Although I am no longer very active on this blog, I could not miss the event (computer) of 2009, namely the output in the trade of Windows 7!

So here it is done, you will be able to obtain this new version in all stores (computer, retail, etc..).

I had already introduced the beta of Windows 7 , but this time I can give you a little feedback, since I am fortunate to work with this release for several weeks.

Well, promises kept!
This Windows is stable, functional, fast, attractive ... and even light enough! Whether you're running XP or Vista, it's definitely worth switching to Seven.

I have not met with notorious hardware incompatibility, since even if the drivers for Windows 7 do not exist, those of Vista working perfectly. I had a trouble with a famous burning software, including Nero 7.5, which seems incompatible *, but a higher version works perfectly.

So do not worry, Microsoft does not have bribed me to lay this article, I'm just very pleased with this new OS ... and I have not forgotten Linux in history, as I look forward to seeing you on 29 this month for the release of Ubuntu 9.10!

Today I embarked on a small presentation of QR Codes, for the simple reason that I want to use for the presentation of some applications, particularly those for Android.

These codes are the successors of our old barcode, but in 2D! They can store 7,089 numeric characters, 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 2953 bytes ( Wikipedia ).

This code was born in Japan, or he knows a huge success thanks to the boom in mobile phones. Indeed, these latter are now all (or almost) with a camera that can read these codes, by installing a small application.

QR codes can thus encoding visual information. They are a URL, text, phone numbers, ...

They are found everywhere, including in some magazines.

Unfortunately, in France, these codes are not the standard of telephone operators who preferred to create their own technology, flashcodes . As all of you are not French, so I prefer to use the most popular standard.

Now let's talk applications. If you are in France (or come see us), two possibilities. Either you find an application reading the flashcodes AND QR codes (rare) or you can install both applications. For the others, only one application is required.

To do this, Google is your friend ... but as I'm nice, I offer two Android:

1. ixMAT Code Scanner (QR Code, Datamatrix, Barcode)
   
2. mobiletag (flashcode)
   

You will need to search in Android Market to install these two applications. Then you will not have to search for all applications that I will present, as in the associated QR code, a link will allow you to access directly to the application in the maket.
